Biomax Oncology Base

Biomax Oncology Base is a highly curated, automated and manually annotated, repository of human genome information, combined with precise information on cancer genes derived from MEDLINE abstracts. The knowledge base was developed by combining literature-derived information from the NCI Cancer Gene Curation Project together with the sequence-derived Biomax Human Genome Database. This unique convergence creates an intersection or "cross-hairs", allowing cancer researchers to target and access specific, reliable cancer gene information to support a broad range of research areas. The Oncology Base is integrated with, and accessible through, the BioXM system for advanced mining, graphical representation, and interactive research projects.

  • Includes a growing cancer gene knowledge base derived through the literature text mining in Sophic's NCI Cancer Gene Curation Project providing gene-disease and gene-compound and treatment relationships.
  • Includes a growing inventory of manually annotated genes with 2,500 cancer genes currently available.
  • Provides a mapped alignment of the sequence derived-genes with the literature-derived genes.
  • Includes detailed report pages for each gene in the Biomax Human Genome Database including gene predictions to identify genes, as well as automatic and manual annotation of information on each gene report page.
