BioXM Knowledge Integration Suite
The Biomax BioXM Knowledge Integration Suite is a rapid development tool set that Sophic has successfully used to develop a number of easy to use scientific intelligence applications. The three-module software suite is a fully integrated set of modules that provide powerful linguistics text-mining with database integration and a data-modeling capability that provides relationship mapping of scientific elements. The maps are displayed to the user in easy to understand, graphical knowledge networks with the ability to drill down into each element to explore the source of the information displayed.

This unique functionality provides non-technical scientists and doctors with insight into the complex relationships between disparate life science elements and serves as the framework and foundation for translational medicine and many other research or management reporting applications. The modules are licensed as an integrated suite or as individual modules. The building blocks for the Knowledge Management Suite are structured into two tiers and include two foundation modules designed to integrate text files and flat files and relational databases.
“Scientific Intelligence” is integrating elements of high-quality scientific information into a valid graphical relationship networks maps. The assembly of the parts provides broader, deeper understanding of how elements align. Finding, seeing and connecting the “dots” leads to gaining understanding of cancer and other complex diseases.

These middleware modules are BioLT Linguistics Tool, a powerful text mining system that has been used in the 5-year NCI Cancer Gene Index Project.
The BioRS Data Integration and Retrieval System is used by international pharmaceutical and plant science companies to create a virtual company wide database accessed by researchers at locations around the world.
The capstone for the suite is BioXM Knowledge Management System. BioXM provides integration of information stored in text files and databases. Scientific elements are mapped into knowledge networks using semantic and scientific object relationships. The graphical maps presented to users as “scientific intelligence” and provide insight into complex relationships between scientific elements.
